download 2000 error

  • When I try to download 1st page 2000 . I get this error on both links . Can some tell me when 2003 be out ?
    Not Found
    The requested URL /~evrsoft/1stpage2.zip was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/1.3.33 Server at infinity2.dnsprotect.com Port 80


  • You cant make them more prominent, they are just being ingnored and no amount of attention will get to work unless you it and that would be very annoying after time (hehe) Anyway, I talked to Admin about the downloads and they are not functional again according to Napolean.


  • The overall problem, you can tell people to read read read, but you cant make them. If they don't they will not. IMO, the only thing you can do is just delete and be more aggressive if another topic was there, but then you defeat your purpose to get visitors.


  • If you read the Guidelines and FAQ (http://developers.evrsoft.com/forum/announcement.php?f=51&announcementid=21) you will find a link to a search that will turn up 100s of alternate download sources.

    If you know a way I could make the Guidelines and FAQ more prominent so that people would notice them, please let me know . . .

    And I did a search for it and found this thread here. (http://developers.evrsoft.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1604) It looks like the files have been moved or site is no longer on the Infinity server.


  • Actually I know vBulletin is NOT phpbb but I am sure the structure is similar. As far as modding and making things happen.

    There is an option in phpBB where upon registration, or if an unregistered guest finds themselves at a forum they are presented with a popup window. A proper one though. I have found that no matter how many popup blockers you use if your pop window is coded properly it will pass through.

    I use them all the time for image galleries on my site and i have three popblockers but they still work... Anyways I digress...

    If you have administrative access to the forums I am assuming you add and remove modifications at your discretion. I know popups are annoying but if you seriously want people to read the FAQ before posting then add a mod that before you are allowed to register and post for the first time this popup window comes up and says very clearly and politely that if you do not read this particular sticky and perhaps click a radio button that proves you read the sticky you will not only be forbidden from starting new threads then you cannot register at all...

    Maybe not that harsh but i mean hell people read through the terms and click i agree when they register, when you join an irc chat room you get a MOD = Message Of the Day. Explaining the rules and regulations of how to act in the chat room. it's usually one rule but still if its ignored and you dont have enough sense to read the signs along the way and then jump into a new place and run your mouth then you deserve to be removed or have your priveleges temporarily banned or some such nonesense...

    It seems silly but ive been here a while. and it never stops and thats the best i could come up with in my tired mind...

    Maybe someone else can chime in a shorten that or make sense of it or something
