Is it racist when.....?

  • an indigenous population express their dismay at the influx of foreign immigrants & choose to forcibly send them( & their descendants) home ? In Europe to suggest an end to immigration & the repatriation of immigrant families from beyond the EU( say those who arrived in the last 50 years) would see you hauled before the liberal mob & forever denounced as a neo-Nazi. But why? Do native inhabitants not have the right to determine who should live within their borders...? In Europe it seems not. I'd be interested to hear from those who believe that forced repatriation is a racist sentiment & to hear their arguments.

  • So by the same token, will you forcibly recall all the Brits (and their descendants) who have settled in foreign countries.

Or does your abject ignorance only work in one direction?

Where will put all those yanks, Aussies, Canadians, Africans and gawd-knows who else?

  • It's not racist to impose limits on immigration.

-- "As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding; like the Roman, I seem to see "the River Tiber foaming with much blood."

  • Forced repatriation can only be "racist" when it is applied to a specific race and no other. If it applied to everyone who migrated here in the last 50yrs then it could not be deemed as racist. Many other things maybe, but not racist.
My view is that the term racist means different things to different people, rather than it's true meaning. As I am aware, racism is when you discriminate against the individual on account of their race.
As a large proportion of recent migrants are european they are of the white race or caucasian if you prefer. Therefore their enforced repatriation could not be labelled racist.
On the other hand if those who are subjected to enforced repatriation are not Caucasian, this could legitimately be deemed racist as they are being discriminated against in favour of the caucasians.
We could go on until the cows come home about colonials and "Empire" but we cannot change history. Your question relates to today's issues, my personal view is that too many are coming here. I have no real interest in their race simply their numbers.
I am not in favour of enforced repatriation unless it is in the deportation of foreign criminals and hate preachers.
A better way would be a scheme whereby those immigrants who wished to return to their homelands would be helped to do so in the manner of transport etc. But not by offering them thousands of pounds of taxpayers money to leave. We did not invite them, we should not be charged for ensuring their future prosperity once they have left. That is common sense, not racism.

  • Not at all. I'm not against immigration, but the levels since 1945 have been destructive and have in some senses, destroyed what was a great nation.
