command in XBMC

  • hi, can anyone tell me if the command is still supported in xbmc, ive got 2 boxes - one is running an old cvs version from dec 05 the other is apr06.

    ive added a couple of buttons on the home page to wakeup/shudown my media server.

    heres the code in the home.xml file in the pmiii skin directory;

    this code works in the older version of xbmc, but doesnt seem to execute in the newer build :(

    has this function been removed, or simply replaced by an alternate command?

    there must be other people running scripts from the home screen, so any feedback appreciated!

    i know i should prob start a new post, but is it possible to have xbmc popup a window when the is executed to inform that the server is sarting/stopping?

    if this is explained elsewhere forgive me, but i have looked and cant find a tutorial.


  • look at the built in functions available from the skin/python/web/whatever

    it's in the online manual. the one you are after is:

    xbmc.notification()
